If I am not mistaken it is the same as the Savage extractor like the model 12. I don't have a Savage here to look at but same system I believe.
Ruger may have bought remaining parts, be worth a phone call probably.

Sporter or varmint barrel?

Thanks for that Buck! I recently put some money into mine with a bedded pro varmint stock from boyds, timney trigger, criterion barrel and northland nut and recoil lug. My main concern was having the extractor issues and not being able to find one. I can sleep better at night since I ordered a new one for a spare!

Yes I am, Originally bought the rifle as a youth model, now my son is 6'2".
