Selling a seldom seen book on deer, bear, and elk hunting in the early days of Michigan and Ohio, HUNTING EXPEDITIONS OF OLIVER HAZARD PERRY. This book contains hunting narratives based on Perry’s trips into the woods of Michigan and Ohio during the years 1836-55. The first edition of the book was published after Perry’s death in 1899. This copy is from the St Hubert’s Press edition, published in 1994, edited by John Howard.

This is a rarely seen and fascinating look at the beginnings of big game hunting as a sport in 19th century America. Hardcover, 299 pages, in excellent+ condition.
