Last year I bought several firearms and have yet to shoot a few of them. With taxes and other expenses coming up it is time to thin the herd and this is the next to go!

Up for your consideration is a pre-lock S&W 624 No-Dash 6" Target Stainless chambered in .44 Special. The serial number is 'AHB8032' and according to the book on S&W the AHB prefix indicates circa 1985-1988 production. I understand there was a recall on this model but when I called S&W they said their records only go back so far and could not confirm if it had been sent back. Nonetheless there is a secondary number '75453' stamped on the grip frame and inside the crane so may have been returned to the mother ship at some point. This gun features a 10-groove serrated backstrap & forestrap, 6-shot fluted cylinder, .500" Target hammer, .400" serrated Target trigger, 1/8" pinned black ramp front sight, black click adjustable micrometer click rear sight and smooth rosewood Target grips with S&W medallions.

I bought this gun last year but have never shot it before. Overall the gun rates 95% with minor handling wear and a light turn ring on the cylinder as shown. The front sight has been painted fluorescent green but can be removed with acetone if desired. No box or paperwork, what you see is what you get. Asking $900 shipped from my FFL to your FFL. Payment by USPS money order preferred but will take Zelle, PayPal FF or bank wire transfer. No checks. Not interested in any trades. If needed I can take more photos, just let me know if you want to see something specific. Cross-posted so first time stamp gets it. Thanks for looking!

Oh my.............
That's nice and a good buy !

I have one myself and S&W marked the box also to show they checked it

from Smith & Wesson Customer Support in regard to the Model 624 recall. She said that the problem is that the ones produced between Jan. to June of 1985. The company that supplied the cylinder steel did not meet S & W's specs. They have to magnaflux the cylinder to check if they

S&W of course stepped up and took care of any issues

This post is a beautiful reasonably priced gun

Happy Sunday!
Heck of a deal!
Glad I'm broke.
Desirable revolver with desirable smooth target stocks.
Should be gone already!
Bump for a fine revolver. I was the previous owner and owned it for over 20 yrs. You will not be disappointed.
Sadly I burned through my gun cash on a couple of other Smiths about 10 days ago. Would love to have that one! blush
Surprised this hasn’t sold, would like to give a new home but safe is full and my wallet is empty this month.
I have one but blued a favorite handgun for me.
I was curious, so I called S&W yesterday and the CSR didn't have immediate access to the date that this revolve was made, so he called me back this morning and told me that it was made in July 1985 and is not subject to the recall. Good news for the lucky buyer.
I have one like this and it is my favorite pistol. I was interested until I saw no checks, but would accept PayPal, which is anti gun. miles

It's almost going back home, I purchased it in Illinois. You'll be happy with it.
GregK, I’ll make a run over to the east side and cross the river just to say that it did. It’s about a 4.5 hour drive over for me, so it may have to wait until I have a second reason to go.

Just drop it off at my house, then. It's not that far across the state line and you'll be comforted to know it will be in good hands. eek
I’ll think about it Jcon72. 🤔
Sold to Coltfan.
