For Sale: Left hand Remington Model 700, .270 Winchester, Pac-Nor barrel, McMillan BDL stock, Jewell trigger, Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8 matte scope, duplex reticle (#45251).

$1200 shipped for everything you see here*. Will sell the complete rifle w/o scope for $995 even. First "I'll take it" gets it. No trades, please. I offer a three day inspection and refund less shipping. If you don't like it for any reason send it back in the same condition as received and I will refund the purchase price less what I paid to ship it to you. Sorry about that, but I have to cover myself against the variable shipping amounts of getting this around the country. Must go to an FFL but I can do a FTF in Boise area or ship directly to Idaho resident. Make sure your dealer will receive from a non-FFL holder.

Metal finish is about 98% or better, there is a thin spot in the finish at the front of the floorplate and the bolt handle has a little shine to it. Bolt has the usual wear marks from being worked, other than that it looks perfect to me. I don't know what's under the scope bases, however. There is some rust in the torx hole of the rear base mount screws but that's the only flaw I can find.

Stock is externally 100%, no dings or scratches anywhere, but it has been glass bedded.

Rifle weighs exactly 8 pounds as pictured with scope.

- 23" Pac-Nor Super Match barrel, Remington standard sporter contour. Approx. 400 rounds through the tube.
- McMillan BDL style stock, painted grey by McMillan, 13 1/2" LOP, Pachmayr Presentation pad with "McMillan" on pad.
- LH Jewell trigger
- Barrel was chambered and installed by Pac-Nor, with action lapped and trued as per their standard install procedure.
- Metalwork is finished in smooth matte blue, also done by Pac-Nor.
- Action was professionally glass bedded in stock by J. Combe, Elite Rifle Works, Nampa ID with barrel left free floating.
- Scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8X36, matte finish, duplex reticle. B suffix makes it a 1994 manufacture. Some ring marks as can be seen in picture and a small scratch on front bell. Glass and mechanicals are perfect, a little dinging of adjustment slots but nothing bad at all.

Action is kind of interesting. It was a complete rifle Remington sent me as a replacement for a horrible POS .270 I got off the rack. It has a B serial number and is factory drilled and tapped for a receiver sight. Remington says the rifle was "new" in the late 90's, but serial number indicates the action was made in the early to mid 70's. I think it is a good'un they had lying around.

I would like to sell this rifle as a complete package, but if the rifle does not sell in a few days, I will part it out as follows:
Stock - $350
Jewell trigger - $165
Barreled action complete with Leupold DD bases and rings but w/ factory trigger - $500
Leupold scope - $285

Please don't start saying "I'll take it" on the parts yet as I won't honor your "takes" yet. I'll let y'all know when and if I'm ready to part it out, and the pieces would then be offered in separate ads.

*Leather bag and patio flagstones not included. wink

Back to the top on a Sunday morning, just in time for you guys that are getting back from church where I know you've been praying hard that your wife will let you buy this... grin

Bill
+1 on the sweat

I dont need it, I dont need it, I dont need it, I wan............

Somebody buy it soon

LC crazy
Jim,

You have another PM. My resistence to temptation is weakening.
Folks asking how it shoots - it shoots about like you'd exprect a Pac-Nor .270 sporter to shoot - pretty good!

I hesitate to post these because I don't know how you load or what loads you use. This one likes the standards with H4831 and RL-22 but then most .270's do. This one doesn't like all bullets or loads, I never could get it to group Hornady 150 grainers all that great.

I could post a few three shot groups well under 1/2" but here are some more representative groups:

Hornady 130 Interbond, Fed 210, 59.0 H4831 - .590" for four shots. (That lower hole marked S is a sighter)
[Linked Image]

Nosler 130 BT, Fed 210, 57.0 RL-22 - .608" for four shots.

woofer
It would be a shame to part that out other than the scope. I called my LH buds and no funds available.

Sure seems like a heck of a deal for quite a package.

Mini bump.
What is the 'smithing worth, $400 plus?

One more glass of wine and I'll be talked into it myself.

Bump for a nice rifle! If this was 25cal or 6.5mm I would be all over it.
Thanks for the kind words, it really is a nice rifle.

This ad has just been posted on the AR forum as well.
coolyou could always just shoot the 110 Accu's 110 TSX's and or 115 SMK's and pretend it is a 25.....<g>

Seriously, this is one nice rig gang and someone should be for jumping on it!

Ya know, nothing takes away the pain of Tax Day like buying yourself a new rifle.

Back to the top for all of you folks that need a little pain relief... wink
Was reading an article about youwantthisrifle the dangers of subliminal advertising youneedthisrifle and it basically said that youmustbuythisrifle subliminal advertising was overrated and didn't really youmustsayi'lltakeit work.

Anyway, back to the top for the mid week shoppers.
Sorry, fresh out of witty banter or cheap tricks to try to sell this today*, just bringing it back to the top.

* Now of course, if I was to use a cheap trick, I might do something like posting a picture of a pretty girl to stir up your interest.

[Linked Image]

But of course, I have too much integrity to do that, or to try to keep using subliminal buythisriflebuythisriflebuythisrifle messages.

Just a plain old boring "back to top". wink

Folks, would someone hurry up and buy this and get this girl off my back?

Every dang day, she's sticking her lower lip out all pouty like and saying in that little girl voice, "Jimmikins, when can I go and give the big stwong man who buys this a gweat big ol' kiss? I got a bwand new thong bikini just for the occasion."

Frankly, she's getting on my nerves...

So, back to top!
Does the girl come with the rifle?
After due consideration for this being a family place and all, I have regrettably decided to let that wonderful straight line lie...
Okay, neither rifle eye candy nor female eye candy seem to have attracted those with a sweet tooth, so I guess it's down to boring old economics.

Rifle without scope is $950 shipped anywhere in the USA. First "I'll take it" gets it. That's the barreled action, stock, Jewell trigger and Leupold DD bases/rings.

Rifle with scope is still $1200 as that is discounting the pieces and parts way over $100.
As of 4/24/08 scope has been sold separately.

As always, I offer a 3 day inspection. If you don't like it for any reason at all you may return it within 3 days in the same condition as received and I would refund your purchase price less the actual shipping cost. Depending on where it goes this should cost about $30-40 to send via priority mail with insurance.
come on guys.. you backasswards shooting nuts gotta' jump....

down too

stock $250
action $450 (with a cut and lugs done)
finsh $50 (yeah right)
tube $200 (oh yeah did mention ss s/match and um, installed?)
jewel $FREE

woofer
Thank you kindly for the boost! wink

Just one correction - barrel is chrome moly, not stainless.

Otherwise, yeah, unless you had your own gunsmithing setup it would be hard to build this rifle with new parts for much less than about $1400.

Been selling several firearms lately and always like to steer clear of BATF regs about being in the business. They define "in the business" as regularly buying and selling guns for profit.

I do buy and sell guns occasionally so I'm probably okay, but the "for profit" part is where I'm definitely in the clear. cry
Still for sale.

$950 and that includes shipping - rifle, stock, trigger and mounts in the original picture. Scope has been sold.
Rifle is no longer for sale, I'm going to hang onto it for now.

(Like I really need to post this since it hasn't had anyone looking in almost a month, but wanted to make it official in case someone wandered across this old ad.)
