For Sale: Left hand Remington Model 700, .270 Winchester, Pac-Nor barrel, McMillan BDL stock, Jewell trigger, Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8 matte scope, duplex reticle (#45251).
$1200 shipped for everything you see here*. Will sell the complete rifle w/o scope for $995 even. First "I'll take it" gets it. No trades, please. I offer a three day inspection and refund less shipping. If you don't like it for any reason send it back in the same condition as received and I will refund the purchase price less what I paid to ship it to you. Sorry about that, but I have to cover myself against the variable shipping amounts of getting this around the country. Must go to an FFL but I can do a FTF in Boise area or ship directly to Idaho resident. Make sure your dealer will receive from a non-FFL holder.
Metal finish is about 98% or better, there is a thin spot in the finish at the front of the floorplate and the bolt handle has a little shine to it. Bolt has the usual wear marks from being worked, other than that it looks perfect to me. I don't know what's under the scope bases, however. There is some rust in the torx hole of the rear base mount screws but that's the only flaw I can find.
Stock is externally 100%, no dings or scratches anywhere, but it has been glass bedded.
Rifle weighs exactly 8 pounds as pictured with scope.
- 23" Pac-Nor Super Match barrel, Remington standard sporter contour. Approx. 400 rounds through the tube.
- McMillan BDL style stock, painted grey by McMillan, 13 1/2" LOP, Pachmayr Presentation pad with "McMillan" on pad.
- LH Jewell trigger
- Barrel was chambered and installed by Pac-Nor, with action lapped and trued as per their standard install procedure.
- Metalwork is finished in smooth matte blue, also done by Pac-Nor.
- Action was professionally glass bedded in stock by J. Combe, Elite Rifle Works, Nampa ID with barrel left free floating.
- Scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8X36, matte finish, duplex reticle. B suffix makes it a 1994 manufacture. Some ring marks as can be seen in picture and a small scratch on front bell. Glass and mechanicals are perfect, a little dinging of adjustment slots but nothing bad at all.
Action is kind of interesting. It was a complete rifle Remington sent me as a replacement for a horrible POS .270 I got off the rack. It has a B serial number and is factory drilled and tapped for a receiver sight. Remington says the rifle was "new" in the late 90's, but serial number indicates the action was made in the early to mid 70's. I think it is a good'un they had lying around.
I would like to sell this rifle as a complete package, but if the rifle does not sell in a few days, I will part it out as follows:
Stock - $350
Jewell trigger - $165
Barreled action complete with Leupold DD bases and rings but w/ factory trigger - $500
Leupold scope - $285
Please don't start saying "I'll take it" on the parts yet as I won't honor your "takes" yet. I'll let y'all know when and if I'm ready to part it out, and the pieces would then be offered in separate ads.
*Leather bag and patio flagstones not included.
