This is a Ruger M77ST bolt-action rifle, commonly referred to as a "round top", in caliber 7x57 (7mm Mauser). It requires bases to mount a scope, instead of the proprietary Ruger clamp-on rings. A set of Weaver 2-piece bases are included (shown installed on rifle). This rifle is pre-warning and was made in about 1971 according to the Ruger website. It is in really nice condition and looks like it hasn't been fired much. I find no flaws on the metal, except one little bare spot on the floorplate. The wood is original with original finish and has a few "handling marks" on it, but nothing through the finish. The wood also has some nice figure and color in it. It has the original excellent adjustable Ruger open sights. Please send me a PM if interested. Thanks for looking. Asking $575.

NOW thats a rifle and a free bump for one hell of a fine rifle........
PM sent.
Man! All these nice tang safeties for sale sure is tempting.
That's nicer than the last one you posted.
Thanks for the positive comments. It really is a nice rifle, and all original as far as I can tell. I fired it a few times to sight-in at 200 yards, but I never took it hunting. That was coming this fall, but plans change, you know.

I can't say enough about the 7x57 caliber. It makes just a fabulous deer rifle. It hits hard and leaves big holes with the right bullets, but kick about half as much as a 30-06/180. Those of you that already have and shoot this caliber know what I mean.

You don't have to tell us. I'd love to have it, but been buying too many lately and the wife is looking at me with the frying pan in her hand. I guess I need one upside the head. grin
Your rifle might be one of Rugers first production runs of the 7X57 rifles. The first run from Ruger if my memory serves me was 5,000 rifles for the 7X57 and 5,000 rifles for the 257Bob.

Does you rifle have a 24" barrel?
