I have a nice one that I would let go. PM me your email address and I can send details and pictures.
Would you entertain a full on custom rifle? Mine is chambered for my Wildcat 338/8mm Rem Mag cartridge but will absloutely feed and fire 340WBY or 338WinMag ammo all day long with no ill effects. My wildcat round, being merely the 8mm RemMAg case necked up to .338 looks like an AI Improved version of a 340WBY and essetially is jst that. A short neck, standard shoulder angle version with slightly more case capacity. My do it all handloads are Barnes 225gr TTSX's at a full, chronographed 3100fps. Ballistics and performance more closely match the 338 Lapua and 338 Edge than the 340WBY but all three rounds are very, very close. I use 340WBY dies to merely neck size and have a good pile of fine ammunition laid up for it. It is built on a highlly modified, blueprinted and squared up Remington Model of 1917 enfield action with Daytonm-Traister guts incuding speed lock, cock on opening conversion, and the excelent Dayton Traister trigger that goes along with the action upgrades. Barrel is a Stianless Steel McGowan that was cut rifled re bored by the late Dick Nickel. Stock is a much re worked Boyds JRS with the grip opened up and slenderized plus an overall hunting contour slenderizing. Crossbolts added, glass bedded, LAminate stock re stined to look like nicely quarter cut Walnut. Scope bases and rings are Burris Dual Dovetail steel posi align nylon insert rings. Scope is a Burris EuroDiamond 3-10x44 also with the all important Posi Lock feature of which I am so very enamored. I can no longer phyically hunt the types of big game this rifle was built to perforate so maybe it is time to sell it and move on in life. $1500 for the whole pile of gun, scope, ammo, dies, extra stockpile of the Barnes 225gr TTSX bullets. GREAT shooter, easily under an inch at 100 yards and a very, very deadly and bloody rifle. IF interseted I will post a pc or three. MARK
BTW, this rifle is NOT heavy at all. 26 inch barrel was thinned down to a fast radius t the chamber featherweight contour. The slimmed down stock plus this barrel make it a svelte feeling, lively pointing hunters / stalkers rifle.
Safariman thanks but not what I'm looking for
