As the title says, I found this rifle for sale, a dozen rounds down the tube, never hunted, looks new, no box. Asking price is $1300 shipped, hi, low or just right? Thanks.

Bob
Wow. That seems pretty high. I sold one a couple of years ago for $1,100 and I had a couple of hundred bucks of gunsmithing (trigger job, safety timing, oversized action pins, Williams extractor, etc) by Mark Penrod in it.
Little high maybe but if the condition is important to you it might be ok. Most of the ones I've seen have been used a little rougher or a brake added, sights removed or replaced etc.
Bob,
At the beginning of this year, I was looking for the same rifle as you. In March, I watched a Model 70 SS 375 H&H, with a Burris scope and one box of ammo sell on Gunbroker for $1200.00. At the time, the norm seemed to be about $1,000.00 for just the rifle. And I did a lot of looking. So, IMO, that price seems too high. Bottom line is, that rifle is no longer made, and "supply and demand" will rule. Somebody, if not you, will probably pay that price.

I saw the same add on GB. It might be worth it if its exactly what you need right now. The Kimber T's are sell for $1900. I might look at a MRC rifle for comparison not sure but.... again not many out there.

Rifle alone in decent condition...$1,000.00
Classics have been increasing in price in the past 12-18 months. If it's really clean you pay more.

Forget about what someone did last year.

It does not seem out of line for a .375 H&H. I just paid $1405 plus shipping for a LH with a removable muzzle brake and the general consensus plus my own price comparisons over that time suggest I got a good deal.
Purchased a preowned unfired one a month ago with a Leupold LPS scope from Jaqua's in Ohio for $1200,00. You should be able to get a new one for under $1200.00. They wholesale for about $900.00.
I just went on the MRC site they have them for the price 1399. http://www.montanarifleco.com/custom.rifles.html just a thought? I would love to find one for $900. smile
I picked one up at a Gun Shop for $650 about two years ago. I got a steal on it. Found another for around $900 a few months ago.

Its hit and miss on them. They are super desirable for the Alaska guys.

$1300 seems about $300 High to me.
Thanks guys, I appreciate your input, I thought the price was high but I'm not a Winchester guy.
Just to let you know, there was one bidder for $1279 and the rifle sold!
