Made in 1918 I believe by the serial number. That's the good. its obviously not in original condition. BUT its a nice gun. I do believe many parts are correct, but the sights have been added. it shoots very accurately. the barrel has an HP as shown. Is that correct? Bore is in decent crisp condition, but a few dark spots. The grips are very nice but not sure what type of wood they are. Nice old shooter or a project gun. $795 shipped ffl to ffl.

No rebuild stamp, either. Interesting piece of history you have there.
Nice

Makes a Series 70 look like a youngster

May I ask about the front sight? Did you put that on what brand is it?
Thanks Hank
The gun came to me this way....don't remember if it's marked. Will check later.
Is this gun "in the white", or does it have some type of finish on it? Oh, and those grips come from the 1970s, I have a pair like that on a 70's factory matte nickel Commander.
i thought it was nickeled or something, but others have asked if its in the white.... How do I tell? My guess is if its in the white, the price could be way too low. That is why I priced it as a finish applied.

That is an interesting piece
The sights are not named, but are nice.

It does look like it's in the white, but I cannot swear to it.
I received a message from someone with some knowledge on these. He confirmed it is a 1918 frame but most other visible parts are various from the 20's timeframe. He believes it is I the white so make a reblue easier, but needs better polishing.

Btt
Saturday sale $775 shipped. Includes an older Colt magazine, but not period correct.

polish it anymore and there won't be much left. love those 1911's.
It's a fully functional respectable Colt with some awesome history for sure.........Sunday bump. Reasonable offers considered, but again, it's a fully functional Colt 1911.
