This is a relisting. Haven't been on the fire in a few months but I need to move this thing since I got laid off a month ago.

Yes you read that right. This is a custom rifle built around a 1917 Eddystone. I have no idea who built it or when but... I sure like to imagine ol' Rocky Gibbs putting his experienced hands on this beauty. (It certainly could be an original by Gibbs but of course I have no way to verify this). Birds eye maple with rosewood end cap, jeweled bolt, etc. I wouldn't call the barrel a bull barrel but it's pretty stout. Blueing looks very good on the action and barrel but there is a bit of surface rust on the bolt and extractor. (Which looks like it would clean up with a little steal wool without much effort)

It comes with a full length sizing die and a bullet seater and one full 20 rd box of ammo along with a partial box - 7 loaded and 13 fired.

Asking $650 shipped for the package.

how does it shoot?

Does it still cock on closing or has the bolt been modified? Nice looking rifle BTW.

Twist?
Posted By: TexasChase Re: 240 Gibbs - 09/01/15
I only shot it once and it did fairly well. About 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" group with the ammo that came with it. That was with a older scope with poor glass too.

Bolt has been modified for cock on opening.

Do not know the twist rate.

That is a VERY NICE looking Rifle Chambered in a great caliber !!

I have a Rem 700 in 25 Gibbs and a TC Pistol in a 30 Gibbs.. I sure wish I could have known Rocky Gibbs, and also PO Ackley but they were just a little before my time !!

Good Luck with your sale !!
