From a 300 Savage. Functions great. Blue has issues as seen in pics.
No cracks in wood, that I can see. Aftermarket butt pad, has rear sight filler and comes with bases. For those interest, 11J date code means a 1958 model. $599 shipped.

I have a 99E JES rebored to 358 win, and it shoots/functions great. Would not hesitate to buy another.

Best way into a great Savage lightweight rifle in this cartridge. You'd pay twice that for an identical factory 358. I hunt one I put together using Savage parts and it's a great rifle. Otherwise...
That is a sweet setup.I though those oler actions were to short for 308 win. Family of cartridges.
Did they do any internal work in the receiver?
Heck of a deal. Good luck with your sale Jim.

No work done on internals. Functions as it should.
Thanks.

Once Savage introduced the 243/308/358 they were all the same action length and as you can see Jim's rifle is a 1958 version.
Action length-wise, SH is correct.

However, the original .300 Sav magazine rotor may have had to have some metal work done to load and feed .358 cartridges.

Not common to find a 99F donor for ~$360.00.

Add the 225.00 that JES charges for a 3 groove rebore including magazine modification and your shipping+Insurance cost to JES, it will be close to the seller's asking price.
how does it shoot ?

Ed
Have not shot it yet....I am afraid if I do, I might hang onto it.

My oldest son, brother and nephew all have JES 358 rebores and ALL shoot well.

I am only getting rid of it, because I want to use my 99EG in 358.
Sold pending funds.
Thanks for all of the kind words and interest.
24HCF folks are the best.
