I ordered two 1/2 gallon jugs last year. Opened one jug and put the other in the freezer. Went through the first jug faster then I would have thought, got the second jug out and its getting low!

Thank GOD! We just poured more off the final gallon, and could see the bottom of the jug!

By the way, yes, it freezes fine too. We just keep a glass pint jar with screw cover in the main fridge, and fill that from the big jug that is downstairs in the fridge or deep freeze.

I'm not Danny but many generations of my family made maple syrup on their hill farms in northern New England so I have lots of experience with the golden delicacy. It stores great if properly packaged (sealed tight) and it can be stored almost indefinitely in a freezer. Once opened, it can be stored for months in a cold refrigerator. If mold forms while in the frig, just skim off the mold, reheat to just boiling, skim and repackage in the re-sterilized container.

Didn't think that last year's syrup could be topped, but you did it. This syrup has an amazing flavor. Had to order three more gallons. Good on ice cream, pan cakes, and especially as a bacon glaze. And yes, Danny is a straight shooter.

Well I had to do it....I opened one of my jugs from this year's harvest.....I am impressed!!

It seems lighter then last years batch, but I will compare them in the morning when they both are cold. It's buttery, light and flavorful I don't know how else to describe it...other then GREAT!

I have used it in a myriad of ways...from pouring over sausage patties, pancakes and waffles to over mahi mahi, tuna and salmon filets!

For you guys....sitting on the fence with your "great value maple syrup" in the fridge...the difference is astounding!! Better get some now, if I free up freezer space I am thinking about getting more!!

Thanks all,been a very busy few days so I slacked on the computer. We have a cold front coming in for about a week so now is the time to get some more syrup boxed up and ready to go. For those not familiar with dark amber, it is very good, always been my favorite grade.

you are right that it is dang good on oatmeal.

This is the second year I've ordered from Danny. Anyone sitting on the fence about ordering, this stuff is really good, better than any I've ever had from the store. I actually will pour about half a shot glass full ever so often and just sip it.

It is heated to a higher temperature then whipped with butter added. This is our first attempt but what we did yesterday turned out pretty dang good. Do a google search and it is all there with different methods.

I always order enough to give some out as gifts. Pretty unique and special, not to mention how darn good it is.

I just want to thank whoever posted in here about putting this on ice cream. Whoever posted that, was what made me decide to buy some. The wife saw it and we used it on pancakes yesterday morning. It was delicious, but last evening when I had the wife put some on my bowl of ice cream, OMG!!!

I love reading all these posts on using it on icecream,pancakes, in coffee,I was raised on this stuff so I just take it for granite on how great this stuff is,we have a pancake dinner once a month with real syrup and the people just love to come to it at our gun club here in upstate,NY. Danny,keep making upstate new yorkers proud,we have crappy leadership and gun laws,BUT we have great maple syrup..

I was born and raised just a few miles from Danny. Back in the 40' and 50's we had an 80 acre sugar bush. Made and ate lots of it. One of our favorite deserts or bed time snacks included it.

Mom would make home made whole wheat/buck wheat bread. She would melt about a quarter pound of home made butter in a large cast iron bowl and vigorously stir in a couple of cups of maple syrup and heat it. When that hot bread came out of the oven we would tare off chunks and dip them in the hot syrup/butter mix. WOW! Was that ever good! Buy the syrup from Danny, use real butter! You'll be glad you did. We called it "Hot Bread Dip." Best way I ever had Maple Syrup.
