A very, very nice Claro walnut buttstock and forend in Exhibition grade for a Ruger No. 1 that has been 95% inletted. Lots of fancy figure with fantastic color. Inletting is well done and clean. The buttstock has been fit for a Neidner steel, checkered buttplate which I can supply at dealer's cost if wanted. Length of pull is 13 1/2. Minimal fitting will be required, of course, for your barreled action. As far as the barrel channel is concerned, the width at the action is 1.14" and is .75 as the muzzle end. Please let me know if you have questions. Price is $325 shipped USA.

More pictures can be found in the Image Gallery under the heading Misc. I can't figure out how to get more than 2 on this post, I'm not very smart.
Thanks
Phil

This is a really showy piece of wood. Claro walnut probably has the best colors of any of the walnuts and this one is included.

Over 350 views and no takers??? I must have it priced too high even though I thought it was a bargain. The blanks would cost $300-400 and then there would be $150 charge to have it semi-inletted plus $50 or so to have the Neidner buttplate fitted. If you don't like this particular buttplate, another type could be added or a recoil pad. Anyway, lets try a lower price, how about $300 shipped?
Thanks

Phil, what does the Neider buttplate add, $$$-wise? Is the forend from the same blank of wood?

Dealers cost at Brownells now is $32.15. I've got some on hand that I've had for a while so I'm sure I paid less. So, how about $20? As far as the forend coming out of the same piece of wood, I can't say that it did for sure. It is in a friend's estate that I'm helping liquidate and cutting the forend out of the same wood would have been something he would try to do. He was meticulous about such things.
Thanks

I can tell you that the forend is a very good match for the butt.

PM sent.

Nice pics on the image gallery.Really nice wood,I would have already picked this up if my two number ones didn't already have exhibition wood.
Ought to buy this and then hunt for a plain Ruger. Send me a PM if Jon hasn't bought this by now. Thanks...Mark
Mark, i haven't committed yet...waiting for a photo of the buttstock and forend in the same photo tomorrow (Thursday) to see how they match up. Grab it if you want it....we're all family! :-)

Jon

Jon, You were on it first, besides I would have to look for a rifle to use it. That's not out of the question, bought some cheap 338 Lapua Magnum brass then bought a gun to use it in.
See what the pics look like to you. No hurry. Mark
Sold!!! :-)
SOLD to Biebs!
If anyone needs any exhibition American Black Walnut blanks, please contact me. I have a few rifles and quite a few two piece. I've reached the age that I will never be able to use my hoard.
Thanks
Phil
