What is the difference between the 10x42 HD-B demo you had for ~ $1500 vs. this HD-R for $950?

Best deal out there anywhere right now.....

Picked up a #40059 HD-r From Doug very recently, great binc for the dough....good grief, for that money--stellar HD glass and RF function.

I recently sold my #40441 HD-R 2200 open bridge style (which I bought new) those are similar to the HD-B but they didn't have the sd card slot of the "B"...and honestly I found them to be massive to carry, even in comparison to the non-open bridge HD-Rs. Less is more, imho.

For these ridiculous prices all of these Leica RF demos are incredible, but especially the HD glass.

Totally agree, the 40059 model is the one I have, a very impressive tool for sure.

Aren’t the older versions the same weight as the open bridge? I thought they were same and about the same overall dimension??

Dave, I can't speak to weight, although that can be easily googled.
Size for the open-bridge 2200's however, feels markedly larger in my hands than anything else I've ever handled other than Swaro's EL range series.

The 40059 HD-Rs are really only about the size of Zeiss's Victory FL 10X42. I still think they are the best integrated RF package out there, and for under a grand they are a no-brainer.
Kudos to Doug & Leica for making this happen.

Thanks Broomd. They are within 1.5oz in weight hence my question. Just gotta decide.....I really like my later model 10x Trinovids! 8x too for that matter!!

The Trinovids are great glass in their own right, but for the few extra bucks, these HD-R 'vids are a helluva package.

Another Geovid owner here because of Doug. After owning them for awhile now, I would not know what to do without them in the field. The combo of rangefinder and bino (w/ quality glass) is a match made in heaven for hunters.

Me 2. On my third pair. Always try to upgrade when a new version comes out. But I am always upgrading to the previous generation. Doug has always been great helping me get into a new set. Running a pair of B's now. They are terrific!
