JeffM,
Have you considered a donation to a museum & a nice-sized tax deduction for you??
NICE mount, btw.,

I've got a large taxidermy bill for 4 other animals coming up soon and prefer cash.
JeffM,
Understood. = Sounds like you have more such mounts (and perhaps a more understanding spouse!) than I ever did.
(Otoh, "she who must be obeyed" has demanded a "spotted-kitty" pelt to drape over our couch in the den, since she read my copy of HORN OF THE HUNTER.)
In the case of MOST of the things that I've given to museums over the years, I came out even or ahead, when tax time came, over what I could have sold the item for.
(Some things that are really QUALITY, are difficult to sell at a fair market price. = I once gave a prototype of a SA handgun, that was ONE of TWO ever made, to a museum after trying to sell it for months. = 99.99% of possible buyers thought that it was "nothing special" & offered less than 25% of it's estimated/fair value . - The curator of the museum knew it's actual value/rarity, had a glass display case made for it & placed it in "a prominent position" in the handgun display.)

I checked a couple three years ago with my taxi about pricing mounts, and was told if you could get your cost of the mounting back, you'd be doing good. Depending on the animal of course.
Bet your cat is undervalued in that regard.
I just paid an arm & a leg for my tom mountain lion Phil Soucy just finished for me this spring. So yes, the price on this female is very reasonable.

Jeff, when I get a big Tom , it’s going to Phil.... unbelievable work... got any pics of the soucy Mount? Glws
Here's a picture of him just prior to finishing the base.
Congrats on a great Tom and what looks to be an outstanding mount. Many taxidermists just can’t do cats. Have seen quite a few cats where I just walk away shaking my head, thinking how pissed I’d be if that was mine. No threat of that here. Again, congratulations.
Thanks. They say the cats are the hardest animal for taxidermists to do correctly. I've seen lots of horrible cat mounts.
why would anybody buy a cat they didnt kill themselves?

Interior decor. A whole lot of interior designers buy mounts for what ever project house they are working on. No different than a big mirror or a piece of art.

If you can't get pussy anywhere else.
