Winchester 1895 mfg. in 1904 in 30-40 Krag. 28" barrel. The bluing is turning to brown patina in some area with scattered freckling. The wood is in very good shape, some scratched their initials in the stock lightly. A period correct Hawkins recoil pad was added many years ago. The bore is excellent, bright with strong rifling. Was in safe for over 40 years before I got it.

I wouldn’t let the pad deter you to much it is period correct for that gun . They even make reproduction of that particular pad.

Agreed. Period Hawkin pads were seen fairly frequently on old Winchesters. I had a Black Diamond Trap Mod 12 with one on it.

I've got a DOM 1900 Winchester 1895 in 30-40 Krag (30 US) with a crescent steel butt and a full buckhorn rear sight. The bore is excellent and it is an accurate rifle. That 28 inch barrel is something else!!!


The 30-40 is an excellent hunting round.
