At the risk of sidetracking your FOR SALE thread, when I went to docent school at the Alamo Shrine, I got to examine COL Bowie's ORIGINAL knife & the ONLY one that he ever built himself.
(It looks almost like a BIG Chinese cleaver & "Plain Jane" BUT very obviously a DEADLY WEAPON.).

Btw, the ORIGINAL "Iron Mistress", that most people think of as THE BOWIE KNIFE is on display at the HISTORICAL ARKANSAS MUSEUM in Little Rock.
