The other post has gotten so long that I thought it might be time to update.

I offer the painting of your stock for $55. That includes return shipping.
Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just a base color with spider web.
I use a decent quality chip resistant paint.
Primer, a couple of color coats, depending on the color.
Spider web. Then one to three coats of clear.

I have a variety of colors. From the usual OD green to black, tan, grey etc.
I have done some in: John Deere green, red, orange, lime......
I'll be posting a few pictures each day.
If I've done a stock for you and you want to post it here feel free to do so.

$55 total.... Ten days to two weeks turnaround time average.
Returning customer / friend price is $50......
Discounts also on two, or more sent at the same time.
Two for $100
Three for $145

XXX

When you ship to me please remove sling studs and recoil pad if possible.....

If anyone has found any faults in the stock paint and with use over time please share.

Just got mine back and couldn't be more pleased. This started out as a hydro dipped graphic that had become sticky over time. This paint job is a big improvement and highly recommended.

What colors are those?

That's nice
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 07/04/19
Dark od green with black and bronze spider web.
I think the bronze is actually a little on the gold side.

Thank you for the feedback DoubleCK

Don't forget.... Take $5 off if you choose silver, or white webbing.
I've got an overstock on those two.....

Have you ever done a carbon bow?
Posted By: unahunt Re: Stock Painting - 07/14/19
must have liked the coyote brown, thats one of the colors you did for me, as usual great job and quick turnaround.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 07/14/19
You picked a great name for the color.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 07/14/19
Never have done a bow. I'm presuming you mean a compound bow.
I know zero about them so it would need to come to me completely disassembled sending only the parts to be painted.
Posted By: DaBuckHunt Re: Stock Painting - 07/15/19
Yup that's what I was taking about. I've heard of some issues with getting paint to adhere to the carbon bows, so I was curious if you might have done one before. If you are interested in trying one you should let me know how much you think it would be.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 07/15/19
Here's for the guys who have asked about durability.
One as done a year ago. The other two years ago.
Rolled around the floor in the car and jeep. Under seats etc. Well used.

Looks great. Is the webbing have a textured feel? One of the pics looked like it was raised a bit over the base color.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 08/24/19
Yes, the black and white spider web tend to be slightly raised above the base coat.
The silver and bronze / gold tend to flatten a bit.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 08/28/19
All I need is a stock to try it out on.....

The only paint job I ever had fail was on a camo Hogue stock. It was for a member here. I refunded his money. I guarantee my work. It is chip resistant.
With a light sanding yours should be fine.
Posted By: pabucktail Re: Stock Painting - 09/18/19
Sounds good. After deer season I’ll sand the hydro dip off and send it to you. The factory camo job is not only ugly, but a joke as far as durability goes. Scratches off with a fingernail.
Posted By: John_Boy Re: Stock Painting - 09/18/19
Be careful with your sanding. Any deep scratches are misery.
150 to 200 grit. Don't worry about getting it squeaky clean. I can put the final sanding on it.
Are you in Alaska?

I have a original wood stock on my .270 Remington 700. Do you paint wood stocks? I know it would be a little more work than a synthetic. Let me know if you do and a price. 479-263-2457

More of John's nice work. My Marlin 336Y. I stripped the Mar-shield finish off the stock as best I could with a citrus stripper paste, boxed it up and sent it to John. My pictures don't do justice to his work or the rich olive color. I am very pleased with how it came out. Thanks, John!
