Damn nice wood on that 7mm Mauser! What is the serial number prefix on that rifle?

72-801 is the prefix of the serial number

Your Ruger 77RS in 7X57 is a rare one.

How rate? I know it is good looking and I love the caliber but need to move some things.

The 7mm Mauser serial number would indicate a late 1976 to early 1977 production. Is it possibly a pre- warning barrel & does it have the 200th year bicentennial marking?

It does have the warning and no bicentennial markings.

Shouldn't the barrel on the 7x57 be 24in long? powdr

You are probably correct but where do you measure it from? I measured from the end of the action. Not sure if that is correct.

That one is sold anyway.
