For Sale: Left Hand Savage 14 American Classic rifle - .308 Win to the lower 48 and Alaska (excluding CA).

Price: $525 + actual cost of shipping via USPS priority mail, insured with signature required, from me a nonlicensee to your FFL.

Payment via US Postal Money order. Price is not negotiable. No trades.

IF your FFL requires shipping from an FFL or a photocopy of my DL, find another FFL. If your FFL is OK with a photocopy that has DL#, DOB and Photo blocked out, I have no problem with that. A receiving FFL is not required by law to obtain a DL from a non-FFL shipper. Proof below.

This rifle has a detachable box magazine, 3-position tang safety and accu-trigger. Purchased new from my FFL dealer (he ordered it direct; i.e. it never sat in a store rack getting handled before I received it). I’ve never used it or fired it. I have taken it out of the box occasionally and sprayed the metal down with Birchwood Casey Barricade rust protection. The slight fading you see of the Savage sticker on the butt stock is just from when I’d wipe any excess over spray off the wood. This rifle is in mint condition with original box and manual. It comes with the gun sock shown.

DL not required by law for a nonlicensee selling and shipping a rifle. A DL or official photo ID is required for the buyer (transferee):

Quote
NONLICENSEE STATE-TO-STATE TRANSFER
per 27 CFR 478.147, a nonlicensee may directly ship a firearm to a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer for any lawful purpose. As such, the nonlicensee may arrange to ship the firearm directly to a licensed dealer in the State where the other nonlicensee lives. The receiving licensee is required to enter the name and address of the nonlicensee from whom the firearm was received.

A copy of the nonlicensee’s driver’s license may be used to verify this information,
but there is no regulatory requirement that it be provided by the nonlicensee.
Afterwards, the nonlicensee who is to receive the firearm would be required to complete ATF Form 4473 and be subject to a background check. Also, any corresponding State requirements would apply, such as a waiting period.
