It does have an octagon barrel, gold engraving, a gold looking coin on the stock, brass front sight. It has no box. Probably the most interest is in Savage 99 people. They are priced pretty high on Gun Broker. I'm way below those prices, just trying to get my money out of it. Only issue I saw is it doesn't have the elevator key on the rear sight which is easy enough to find. Looking to get $700 plus actual shipping which is half of what many collectors ask. Any true Savage Lever guy should have one!!! I used one similar to this back in the 70's. I like the counter on the side, good caliber, that brass on the butt of the stock is amazing. Should make a real nice hand me down to the kid or even a grand kid. I'd prefer to sell it on here, instead of Gunbroker. I'm given to understand my price is very fair.

That may be but I don't have a problem with that. I did a trade and I'm not trying to make money on it, just get my money out of it. If there is enough value left for someone to make some money, God bless you, go for it. Sometimes we try to help people out, and when we can do that we don't need to make money on their misfortune. If this helps someone out it's a double.
