I am thinking of getting another one these rifles. I am looking for the following calibers. Might consider others.

280AI
300 WM
284 win
6.5X284
I happen to have a gorgeous never hunted 300 WinMag in the safe that I don't use... I sure do like it though. I'd have to ponder about letting it go. They are such lovely rifles!
any interest in a rebuilt forbes rifles?
Jeff you sure no how to kick a guy in the gut. LOL
The very first ULA (long before NULA) rifle I ever fooled with was a .300 Winchester Magnum. It put 9 rounds of handloads using 165, 180 and 200-grain bullets into around an inch at 100 yards. It was a loaner from Melvin, and I tried to buy it--especially after hunting with it that fall, since it weighed 7 pounds with scope.

He refused, because it had already proved to too many gun writers how well his rifles shot. A couple years later I guided his son John to a big chocolate-phase Montana "black" bear--which he dropped with one shot at over 300 yards with the same rifle.

Dunno what happened to the rifle after that, but still wish I owned it.
Thanks John. Now Jeff for sure won't want the sell it!!!! LOL

I was a broke college kid gun looney but totally ignorant to Mr Forbes and his rifles...... and I lived two blocks from his shop. Probably a good thing I didn’t know then what I do now.

I have a few but they’ll be the last ones I sell....even my Colt versions which have both proven to be reliable and good shooters sending multiple loads to a near same point of impact.
I have had quite a few of these through the years and have a NULA 6.5 Creedmoor now. I like them just keep going back and forth between the Gap's, McWhorter and other customs. If something that interests comes around that's great. If not I have the creedmoor.
If I lived that close I would be divorced and broke.
The action length is a good match with cartridges derived from the .284 Win case.
Selling one in .338 Federal. About 100 rounds through it. Excellent condition.
PM sent
My 300 WinMag hasn't been fired much, but when I got it I mounted a Swarovski 3-10x42 in lightweight Talley's and shot a couple of 3 shot groups with Hornady's Superformance 180 gr SST's that were scary small. They are also one of my favorite rifles to simply handle... works of art is what they are fellows.

Did I mention that I love these rifles?
BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
Safe to assume hardly fun to shoot a box of ammo in one sitting...?
My NULA 300 win mag also shoots very well and is a pleasure to carry. Good luck with your search.

Yes sir, I haven’t done that with this rifle but you are safe to assume that.
I’m not recoil sensitive, mainly due to a lifetime of diligently practicing the use of hearing protection and padding a bit up when needed. But when you touch off one of the healthy superformance rounds you realize you’ve just fired a ultralight magnum rifle.
I have a ULA 300 Win as well and to me the felt recoil is no worse than your basic Remington 700 in 300 Ultra or a Weatherby Mark V in 300 Roy of which I have both. They are great hunting rifles and are damn sure more pleasant to carry than the other two. You carry a hunting rifle a lot more than you shoot it. Nice to be able to hit what you are shooting at when you do decide to shoot however smile

I have a model 20 in .284 with 28" SS, and a NIB Model 24 signed by Melvin in .338-06. Also his .50 ML.
Are you selling them or just letting me no what you have.
Would also consider a 300 WSM

PM Dick rdobrow on here. He may have something you might want. If he’ll let one go. I bought a rifle from Dick a few years back and it’s all he said it was and more. Laser beam....he’s a great guy to boot.

I have enjoyed reading about all these happy Nula 300 WinMag owners. There must be many other stories out there.
There was a Colt light rifle in 300 win at the Cabelas here in Billings last I was in there; 1-2wks ago.

Not quite the same, though, I know
I am assuming the OP saw this, but just throwing it out there. I know not one of the calibers he was looking for but not much it wouldn't do.
