In 1980 I was called by a friend in Port Jervis, NY who ran a surplus store and he told me to come look at a rifle he was selling for another friend so I drove over and looked it over and fell in love with it and put in a bid. He called me back two weeks later and said come get the rifle.

It was brought back from Germany at end of war when the civilian population was disarmed and this rifle was handed to the previous owner and he was told to keep it and not let it get destroyed with all the others and he did.

It has a 3 digit serial number so I am assuming it was made in 1905 or 1906 and I have RCBS loading dies that will come with it.. It has double set triggers as well. Original iron sights. I have not shot it in many years and I am 73 and thought someone that appreciated these rifles might like to have one. If I was 40 years younger it would not need a new home.

What is this rifle worth these days? I saw a old thread here from I think it was 2014.

Bore is not in best shape but it groups well. I worked up a load with 250 gr. jacketed bullets. I love the rifle but can no longer see the sights and it needs a home with someone that will appreciate it.

I am in South Carolina now.
