Sitting in airport and traveling for next 18 hours, plenty of time to think about collection, what I want to keep, acquire, sell, etc. decided to get the wife a new car this spring so going to raise some funds. Been debating this one a while but have decided to sell Sako L579 Deluxe in 22-250. Been in my family since the early 90s, I have only fired it during one range session about 10 years ago. No scope mounted on it currently. I have a set of Sako Opti-lock 30mm highs for it currently.

Rifle is in very good condition, not excellent. Metal is pretty much flawless, the stock has a little crazing in the clear around the pistol grip cap and fore-end. Buttpad is original but is showing some age. There is one nick in stock near cheek rest, my bumbling friend picked it up off my workbench a few years ago when I had rifles out of the safe to clean. I had the rings slid onto the dovetails but not tightened down, get snatched it and rear ring slid off as he swung around. Hit the stock with ring, pissed me off.

What is the ballpark for this specimen? Attached a few pics that I happen to have on my phone. Thanks

Last 1 I saw sell here in Mt,2 months ago was $850. It was a 243 Deluxe. No rings.
1000-1200
850 for a sporter, maybe. Not a deluxe model.

I agree with watch4bear.
I would say closer to $1400 don't see to many 22-250 in good condition
I too live in Mt and it would have to be in amazing condition to fetch over $1000

Unfortunatly, Sakos of this vintage don't bring the cash one would expect for the great quality.

I have offered several like vintage here before.

I had a.243 Deluxe L 579 & a Deluxe Long action in .375.....

couldn't even get a kind look.
What they actually sell for and what people normally ask is usually dramatically different. The market on these went to hell over the last 6-10 years
I would think you're looking at $900+/-, depending on the stock condition.
No matter what the value is, it sure is a beauty and in great condition from what I can see.

Good luck if you ever decide to sell it.
I'm a Sako nut, so take that for what it is worth......

I'm not a 22-250 guy, but if I was, I'd pay $1,200 shipped for that rifle!

Ya!

I have been trying to find a 22-250 so would be interested if you decide to sell
There is nothing like these made anymore. Fantastic workmanship.
Is the barrel stamped Bofors, and when you say crazing, do you mean the finish is cracking or clouding?

Cisco if you would use decent photo's and wouldn't price your rifles like it was sitting on the shelf at Tiffany's you might get some interest.
