Revising my stock painting post. After doing this for five years I need to offer more information.
This service was originally offered simply as a way to dress up a plain black plastic synthetic. In the interim I've painted some very expensive stocks. Some involved quite a bit of work.

New guidelines: for a plain plastic stock I charge $55 which includes return shipping. This is for the lower 48.

If the stock is a Bell and Carlson, H&S, or other higher priced stocks the charge will be adjusted to reflect the increased insurance cost. Typically $3.85 covers up to $300 in insurance.
I'd you want the old finish completely removed the base fee is $10. That covers most of the jobs I see. If it's a target stock with moving and or removable parts add $5

Please pull sling studs and recoil pads if possible. I've seen a few recoil pads glued on.

I use a good chip resistant paint that has a seven day full cure time.
Chip resistant..... Not chip proof.
I use one to the coasts of clear.

Multiple orders:
Two stocks $100
Three stocks $145

If anyone wants to share some feedback, good or bad, on their stocks please post it here. Feel free to share pictures.

I'll start with my top two selling colors.

Can you make minor repairs before painting? I have a stock coming with a few nicks, dings, and scratches. No apparent gouges.

Thanks, Dinny
Possibly. I'll p.m...

Are you able to do a Cabelas guide camo pattern ?
That would be a dipped finish method.
Can't do that one.
No tank, decals, etc.....
Can you add just the webbing to a black stock? If so is any color available?
I can do that. Not sure how it will look.
I’ll need to clear coat the whole stock through to make it match.
$15 of the posted price of $55 is for shipping.
Got spider web and clear coat let’s call it $40

John did an awesome job on my daughters 243. She loves teal and John went out of his way to find a good match and added spider web. Finished product looks great and still strong 1 year later.
Thank you TomM1

Is base + webbing your specialty, or have you done some camo patterns?
Base plus webbing.
It’s just a retirement hobby so I keep it simple and low cost.
I’ve been asked about other patterns and dipping, but I don’t want to invest in allot of inventory, or equipment.

John Boy that Gold Web on Black is striking . You do nice work !
John has done 2 stocks for me and I am super happy. Oldest is about 3 years old on a Ruger 10/22 and still looks great. Gladly recommend him to anyone wanting a painted stock.
