Posted By: 160user Price Check Ruger 77 KRSI 7x57 - 03/03/20
Someone on here was looking for an RSI so I drug this one out. He wasn't interested in it but being I haven't even fired it in about 10 years I am considering selling it. I bought it new, put less than 20 rounds through it to zero the scope and it has sat ever since. It is a bright stainless (not dull like the new ones) manlicher style with sights and pretty decent walnut. I have the original box and paperwork for it as well. It currently wears a Leupold SS 3-9x33 compact. I can sell it with or without the scope. What is a fair asking price?
I am thinking this should stay in Minnesota..

Let me know when you come up with a price..
That's funny. Two people have said they were interested, both from MN! I am not sure what to ask. It is a cute little bugger but sits neglected.
It would be warmer in Georgia..
Any input on what I should ask for a price? I have had 3 PM's about wanting to buy it buy only 1 person gave suggestion on value.
$950-1100
I believe your rifle is a Hawkeye & not a MKII? The box should be labeled HKM77RSI & barrel marked as .275 Rigby (7x57 Mauser)?

Yes and no. It is a Hawkeye but a very early version. They were a limited run for Lipsey's I believe. As I recall, they made 250 or 500 of them in 7x57 and another batch the next year in 250 Savage.
I sold a .250 version of this rifle last year for $950, 100% condition unfired but no box. Good luck with your sale.
There are 2 Hawkeye KM77RSI (7x57) listings on GB & GI, both NIB & asking $1700 and $1800 respectively.
I bought a red pad 77 RSI in 308 (blued) on here recently for $900 and was happy with that deal. In excellent condition (as close to new old stock as you could get, but no box).

Thanks! That helps. I will have to try to find them and see if they are the early, shiny ones or the later matte ones.
Both shiny stainless & both marked 275 Rigby. Listing price won’t necessarily mean they’ll sell for that though.
So these must be current production guns. Like I said, I believe mine was a very limited run but I am not sure if that makes it worth any more than the current production stuff. I guess it is as good as anything to use as a baseline. Thank you!

If that is what it is worth I will probably just hang on to it. Thanks everyone.
I wouldn't sell it for less than $1,600.00

Thanks. I am looking at quite a price spread. $950-1600 with new ones being $1700-1800 without the Leupold. I guess I will list it and see what happens. If it doesn't sell it can just stay in the safe.
Bought one on here in 257 Roberts, NIB, limited Lipsey’s edition, stainless for $850,6 months ago.
That seems like a very good buy. I wouldn’t part with mine for that.
Takes all kind... those trying to drive the value down, those trying to drive the value up..

Do you know more now than you did before you posted?

Nope. Only about a $800 price spread.
It is an 1100-1200 real world SELLING price for the bare rifle, scope does nothing for it unless you have the correct buyer. 1600-1700 is a hope and a prayer, 900 is the very low end of someone needing to sell the rifle NOW.

FWIW pretty fair assessment
