20 gauge. Purchased in 1967 so the build date is probably around that time. Has been used afield so it bares character. Triggers are as crisp as any finely tuned rifle trigger. Tooling is still crisp and sharp. Lower barrel is improved cylinder upper barrel is modified. I guess you could consider this somewhat of a collectors item. Amazingly light fast swinging wonderfully handling shotgun a field or in the woods.

In the second photo it appears to be a double trigger gun... a feature one does not see very often on O/Us.

It is a double trigger and both are as crisp as atuned rifle trigger. No creep and no over travel.

2 3/4 or 3" chambers?
Posted By: Cocadori Re: Sauer Berretta S56E - 04/29/20
Vented rib... ever so slightly tho...

2 3/4" Chambers... in '67 not sure 3" was a thing ;-)

One of the neatest things about this gun is the cheek piece... oh so comfy...

I had 57E, the 12 gauge version of this one. Very nice shotguns. Top of the line "rack gun" from Berretta at the time.

20 gauge. Purchased in 1967 so the build date is probably around that time. I'm taking a S.W.A.G. at 1965. New this fine pice was $160... It's appreciated value as the craftsmanship is superb and it's gain more "Culture" than a safe queen or a gun thats hunted from a "ride" in the country. Has been used afield so it bears character that can't be bought.
