Lol. I was in the same boat as u a few weeks ago. I found a really nice 7mm-08 on gun broker. It’s the nicest one I’ve seen I years. Good luck on your search it was a 308 on their last week.

What do these rifles run nowadays?

If they are in good shape in the 1,000 dollar range. some from 1200-1000.

A lot depends on what cartridge the rifle is chambered in.

7-08 will probably go over $1k and 6mm will as well.

A nice 25-06 is another hard to find also. The only Long Action Varmint Special.

I snagged one a few years ago in .243 for my daughters to use in the blind for deer hunting. I also harvested my largest white tail with it. It gets wrapped in white Camo in January and becomes a coyotes worst nightmare.
It’s used, not a collector, but a sweet shooting rig if you are not too concerned with weight and shooting off of a bipod.
There is no way I’d get rid of it for what I bought it for.
