I just received word that I won a Stevens 555 and have a choice between 12, 16, 20, 28, and 410. I'm leaning toward 28 or 410. Does anyone know if these are scaled receivers/actions? Do they make 5 sizes or are the all built on one or two frame sizes?
I have a 410 in a 555 and it seems to be built around a 410. It’s quite petite. Don’t have a 28ga in a 555 to compare to buy its smaller than my silver pigeon and Fausti 28ga’s. Hope that helps. I would guess at least the 410 has its own receiver.
I am not a fan or savage or Steven’s but like the heck out of that little shotgun. I would definitely do a 28ga if you do not have one you love but I had two I love so I went 410ga. No regrets
Forgot to mention mine is the 555E. Didn’t realize there was four models
