Thanks for posting that.

Ya! That’s me on a good day😜
You wonder if he was fifteen years younger, and had his right hand intact, if he could connect with a 100 mph fast ball. I didn’t hear all of the audible, but while shooting with the right, he controlled with the left.
Great eye-hand coordination.

Thanks for posting

The rest of the story….

The guy standing next to him at the end is Gerry Quinn, who at one time was a PR guy for Remington. He along with Bob Brister were the two most influential people in bringing Sporting Clays to the USA.

Gerry today is still an ambassador to the game…and you will look hard to find a better person.

John's a good woodworker too. Brother still has the bowl/trophy he made for his tournament. Brother actually beat him in a shoot off, .410 sub gauge event for it.

George Digweed's long range shooting is amazing. I'm blown away when he talks about shooting pigeons at long ranges but only if he can place shot in the vitals. I just try to hit the bird. I can't imagine trying to hit the vitals at 80-100 yards.

Scott Robertson has several of his Berettas on the wall at his range in Dallas plus a couple of Model 12 skeet guns that I assume are family guns. I used to go out there often and shoot leagues and shoot with friends. I believe Scott's son would sometimes pull five-stand for us.

Travis Mears is another guy that from what I understand is in the same class as these guys. Travis owns a range about an hour drive north of me that I've been shooting at lately. My youngest, who is 8, has picked up the shotgun bug. We've been shooting at Travis' range several times a month lately. He broke 18 targets out of 40 shots on one of Travis' sporting clays ranges the other day, which I thought was pretty impressive for a young guy with a Rossi .410!

Trick shooting is much different than real shooting

😉

The video I referenced with Digweed had him standing on the edge of cornfield and shooting incoming pigeons at 80-100 yards. He said if he couldn't see the vitals, he wouldn't shoot. It didn't look much like trick shooting to me. More like an American dove hunt, but at 2x-3x the distance I normally would shoot.

I’m talking about 10 yard shooting of hand-thrown objects
