Out with a Colt 1883 and a William Powell lift lever shotgun shooting 5 stand on December 19 with temperature in the 50's, sunny and no wind. It's hard to believe the weather this time of year, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Shooting these old damascus shotguns is gratifying, thinking of in whose hands and what game they may have shot over the last 120-150 years...

Where do you get low pressure ammo to shoot in Damascus barrels?

I bought several flats of B&P shells and saved the hulls after I shot them and added a little plate on a Mec 600 JR reloader that allows me to reload the 2 1/2 inch shells. Good damascus barrels are not as fragile as many think. I don't shoot high powered loads in these old guns more for what the recoil will do to the hinge and internal parts than worrying about blowing up the barrels...
Nice!
