Sorry about your grandfather. But he must have had a good taste in guns. The 303 has kind of developed a Cult following some say it may be the best Beretta Semi Auto they ever made. Hopefully your gun is a 2 3/4 inch barrel instead of the magnum. If it is the magnum it likely won't cycle target loads with out drilling out the gas port. It will be a really nice little bird gun either way.

Had a A303 12 ga. for a while. Loved it, but I'm a lefty and the beretta rep said I would not be able to reverse the safety. For some reason I could not adapt at the time. Sold it for what I had in it. Beautiful gun, shot like a sewing machine. The cycling was the smoothest, fastest I've ever had. It did require, as many gas operated guns do, slightly heavier loads to cycle the lighter stuff. I tried to shoot at least 1-1/8 ounce shells to meet the pressure for the 12 ga to function flawlessly. The shells were a little more but I had better results on dove. Great shotgun for wingshooting.
Not completely sure...I know it would of been older...he passed away about 16 years or so ago..When did they start making the magnums??...I know that a guy was trying to sell it for my grandmother and the guys asking price was $700 so I am assuming it must be in immaculate condition..And I am getting it for free because most of the guns wouldn't sell due to the price they wanted for them and the way the economy has become..no one is really buying used guns for that type of price...and i definitely won't sell it...Any idea why I can't reallys seem to find 2 3/4 turkey loads?...was just up at basspro yesterday and only really saw 3" in 20 gauge which i thought was odd?

The 303 either comes in 3" or 2 3/4", it will not shoot both reliably if it is a 3" gun.

You may be SOL trying to find 2 3/4" 20ga turkey loads locally. Your best bet is to find the 5 round boxes and buy a few different brands and shot sizes to pattern. This way you will find that sweet spot load your gun really likes and not be stuck with a few boxes of a particular load that do not pattern well.

The old 303 and 390's are simply awesome.
