My kids aee getting interested in trap an I have never been much of a shotgunner so a little help is needed. I have youth 870 20 but both my kids handle 12s well. I don't want to buy a dedicated trap gun as we do some bird and turkey hunting as well. Should I get anothed 870 but this time in 12 or is there a 300- 400 $ gun that will hunt and shoot better than an 870?
Side note a fellow I work with has a verona 12 with 5 chokes..for 200$..I'm going to look at it this evening.. but know it may not be what we need.

Stocks and Barrels are easy to come by for guns like and 870 or 1100. I have a Trap grade 870 here with great wood on it, 30" barrel. I also have a youth length stock set, 21" Turkey/Coyote/Youth barrel and 26" vent rib choke tube barrels so I can set it up for any season and any shooter that wants to use it for much less than multiple shotguns

The 870 is a great choice, but if you can find an 1100 for 3-400, they have a little less felt recoil. If you want to spend a little bit more, a 390/391 Beretta would be a really good one.
