Does anyone make a 24" LT20 barrel with Remchokes? Can't seem to find anything but 26 and 28, and no one has 26 in stock. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know of anyone off hand but it's likely the barrel would be on the expensive side. You would probably be better off to buy a fixed choke barrel, have it cut down to the post closest to 24", and have the barrel threaded for chokes. At the most, you would probably pay what a new barrel from Remington would cost depending on the price of the barrel and who did the threading.

Scuttling down a barrel and threading for choke tubes is not a difficult procedure, any competent gunsmith or machinist should be able to do it. Find a local gunsmith with a decent reputation and have him do it. Over the years I've had barrels threaded by: the local high school shop teacher/hobby gunsmith, two different local "professional" gunsmith's, the votech gunsmithing school, and one myself under guidance of a neighbor/machinist.

You can send the barrel off but that would be around half the price of the barrel work. You could buy some choke tubes for that price.

Why do you want to do that? Hard to beat the handling of a 26 inch 1100.

For the daughter, 5' 2" tall and weighs 90 lbs.

I have a Rem 1100 20 ga LT 23 inch vent rib barrel which is a fixed MOD choke for sale if you are looking for a shorter barrel. You can have choke tubes installed for $150.00 from a gunsmith is Mass who I used to install choke tubes in a lefty 870 I have. I can't remember the gunsmith name as I post this but I assure you he is well known and does a great deal of choke work for shotgun shooters.

Not to rain on the parade but it seems to me that the problem is not the barrel length per se but more the fact you're sticking someone that size with that lump of steel known as an 1100 when there are aluminum receiver guns available.

Fact is 2 inches of extra barrel will make little difference regardless of her current size. LOP may.

I've got 20 or more shotguns of all types and sizes for her to choose from, she loves the gun though, so Daddy is gonna get her what she wants.

The gun has a 28 inch barrel on it now, I've got a 23 inch barrel en route from one of our fine members for her. 5 inches is a lot of difference. I also ordered a set of composite stock and forend, shortened LOP by an inch.

Have you tried to find a youth barrel for it? Can't remember how long they are, but definitely shorter than 26". I got a youth for my girls, but haven't had the time work with them yet. A few years ago I found a 28" at Cabelas in the bargain cave. Turns out there was a dent in the rib and Remington ended up replacing it for me. Later I found an adult stock for it so now I can accommodate them or me.

Remington’s 26” barrels are actually 25”.

do the 21 inch LT 20 barrels you see fit an older LT 20, or are they a "special purpose" affair that only fit a Special Purpose gun?
