Anybody have one? I had an ethos in a 12 that I used towards the end of last season. I was an amazing deal and an even better pheasant gun. I traded it for a pre64 model 70. Kinda curious what the recoil is like on these considering the weight.

Yeah I had one of these in 12ga with 24" barrel several years ago and stupidly sold it (like i do all the others) ....The Ultralight was an excellent shotgun, it never jammed once but i only shot it a couple hundred times, where it shined was how well it handled, and as for the recoil it takes more recoil than that shotgun created for me to notice....Good luck đź‘Ť.....Hb

Nice, I see a guy on here has a montefeltro for sale. Thought about offering my model 70 in .300 I a trade. That or a franchi instinct or a tikka super lite 7mm-08 would be nice

I have a buddy who bought the performance shop model and is out west trying it out on multiple species, he said it quacks a little harder but I wasn’t sure if he’s just a wuss :$

I am breaking in a 28 ga UL this year. With 1 oz handloads it gets your attention, but it is a sweet-carrying pussycat with the 9/16 TSS loads I put through it last Friday evening.

Picked up a 20 ga Montefeltro as well, and that is another sweet little shotgun, plus it holds 4+1 if that matters.

If I found a 12 ga UL for a good price I would be very interested.

Nice shotgun Rick... and quail? I’ll try to post some of the pictures my buddy sent me with his new toy.

I have a Ultralight 12 Gauge 26” ...

They are nice, and almost too light - I don’t notice any kick though.

I had a M2 but upgraded to the ultra-light, I also have a SBE 1... which is death on wheels as well. I use the A shim so they shoot high and I can see the full bird as I (quoting Phil from the duck commander) shoot it’s head clean off ..

smile

The Ultralight is all good. - it only takes 3 shells.. would be my only complaint when I’m popping a HUGE covey.

I love my 20ga UL for doves and upland over a dog.

12 & a 20, really like them both. I don't think recoil is bad but I don't do any high volume shooting with them. Mostly carried a lot, shot a little, and they are great for that.

Not a skeet shooting gun, but recoil is not that bad, really not noticeable in the field.

You probably won't enjoy shooting doves with a heavy field load but I haven't noticed any recoil shooting at quail with mine. I would love to trade the 12 for a 20 or 28 ga which I couldn't find when I was looking for a BUL.
The B UL’s are great shotguns but the new ones (or at least some, maybe just a run of which I was lucky enough to get two of) have recoil pads that disintegrate with the slightest use.

Not a terribly big deal but disconcerting that after taking a few birds and walking a mile you notice a big chunk of it missing. And then the other gun too.

Edit: I didn’t notice recoil at all in the 12 until I tried some 1 3/8 oz loads at high velocity. The 20 is just sweet with 1 oz loads and the 1 1/4 oz loads, if you use them, nudge just a bit.
