I am not a huge Leupold fan but I bet this one is a pretty good contender. It has CDS that could be handy if you know what you're doing.

Never heard of meopta. I’ll check them out. I have leupold, Nikon, vortex, but I’m interested to see where all the love is now a days. I’ve seen lot of leupy bashing lately and I’m not a fan or China glass even though lots probably use them without notice.

Another vote for the Meopro. I have 4 of them and would gladly add more if I needed more scopes.

All the same great scopes, just different badging. Some will pay a little more for the name, and in the end that one will sell for a higher dollar amount as well, if you care about resale value. If you don't care about such things, buy the one that says "Cabela's" on the side of it..

Cabelas Convenant line is suppose to be a rebadged Meopta also...

I bought a Meopta Optika5 4-20x50 Rd BDC 3 from Camera Land 2/18 shipped for $489.99 its on the way,should arrive 2/23.
I have a Leupold VX 3i 3.5-10x40 like the scope,was looking at scopes for my wife's 6.5 CM.A member from another forum recommend Meopta.I started researching and majority was positive so decided to give it a chance.

I just ordered and received that same scope. I posted an initial review here. It's several threads down. I am curious what you think when you get it.

Giving Doug a call is never the wrong option. What size range are you looking for and what kind of hunting or shooting?

I snapped up a used EP4 on Facebook this week for a 17HMR trainer I’m building, needed something I could afford to shoot. Pretty excited to put my hands on it. I expect reticle to be garbage for hunting but fine for paper punching. Though, the current Gen 2 SH4’s and upcoming Gen 2 EP4’s supposedly have a much more friendly reticle.

I've heard the Optika 5 glass didn't hang with the meopro

I put a new Athlon Argos 2-12x40 on a 20Practical for coyote hunting this season and am pleased with it.



It bounces around on the back of my MC and is holding up fine.

I ordered a Optika6 2.5-15x44 BDC... I hated the rubber rings around the turrets and power selector, no need for all the threaded holes for the throw lever stud. Weighs too much and didn't like the blue ring on the objective Other than that the glass was nice and the turrets felt good. I ended up sending it back for a refund.

Optical quality/glass. Going back and forth between them the the 5 was not as sharp and clear.

I would try a Maven RS.2. I was in their shop and tried to buy one, but they were out of stock.They appear to be very well built, the glass is very good and they are still light and dont have big turrets. I dont have many scopes that cost over $500, but I wanted to try one and see how they worked.

That being said, I would buy the Meopro from Doug's sale before I tried the Maven. That is what I am looking for. I will probably order 1.
