Got a buddy with one of these he's thinking about selling. I'm not a Leupold guy but I understand Leupold no longer makes them in the silver finish?
They were $350 new, subtract $100 for used. Add $50 because I'd like to do a twin build, $300 plus shipping.
Silver scopes can bring ridiculous money and they can sit. You need to find a guy who has a stainless rifle that matches that particular silver on the scope.

Bull sheidt. The scope in the OP would bring $500.00+ on ebay pretty easy. I have sold the older Vari-X IIc 3-9x40 models for $350.00+ on ebay. They sell like hotcakes.. Your estimate in value is funny/not real world. Although, I'm very glad there are many guys like you in this world. I've gotten smoking deals on rifles with silver scopes, then turn around and sell said silver scopes and damn near get what I paid for the package. Thanks!!! wink
Sometimes the 50mm objectives can be a bit more of a niche item.

If it was 40mm, I’d guess $500+ in excellent condition.
FWIW, two months ago, I bought a Leupold VX3i, 4.5-14- 50 mm, duplex, matte black off of GB. It was NIB and I believe with shipping I paid $485. They had something like 90 of them for sale, a dealer from Pa.
