Several sheets of paper up to a credit card is where I want most of my optics. I don't do varmint rifles these days. Antique guns may have a special position depending on the action. Be Well, RZ.

If'n your eyeball lines up how you want, it's aok.

As long as it doesn't touch. My 3.5-10x50 VX-3-HD sits the same way. Took it to the range last saturday and it shot great. No issues.

If I see daylight underneath it's good.
