I have recently taken my dad’s Vanguard barreled action out of its heavy wood stock and put it in a Mcmillen. It’s much lighter now and I don’t want o burden it with a heavy scope. It has a 24 inch barrel that I may have cut to 22. It’s currently wearing a 1980 vari-x II but I want to replace that with mow current glass. I want a one inch tube, very clear glass and the ability to use turrets. I don’t want a large objective as I’m trying to keep weight down on this rig. Would also like to have an illuminated reticle as I’ve grown fond of the one in my VX6. I don’t need or wznt high power on the top end, 8 or 10 power is fine. I thought about a Leupold 2.5x8 but it looks like on their website that only a regular duplex is offered. I’d like a ballistic plex reticle for fast shots at longer range when I don’t have time to dial. Scope could be second focal plane or first.

Are you a:
a) moa turret twister
b) mil dot turret twister
c) BCD reticle
d) mil dot reticle
e) moa reticle
I was turret twisting for a lot of deer, but lately, I have been using MOA reticles and BCD reticles.
Electric and turrets pretty much takes you out of the lightweight category.
An Ultralight Leupold 2.5x(9oz) and learn the subtensions on the reticle will take you out to 300+. If your taking shots longer than that I'd build a rifle for longer range work.
The Leupold VX-5 HD Firedot is a 30mm body but only 13.4oz
I used a Bushnell Elite 4200 !.25-4x24 w/ill. dot for hunting coyotes out there on the wet side. The dot is nice in the forest out there.

That’s a tall order. Assuming you want to use turrets that actually work with reliability.

The Tract Toric 2-10x42 is a 1" tube with a zero stopped turret that can also be capped. It has dialed very well for me and the glass is great. It's not "ligjht" at about 18 oz. It can be purchased with a BDC reticle if desired. No illumination.
Burris made a 3-9 illuminated with their BDC reticle, I have one. Can't remember if it was the Fullfield II or ? It checks quite a few boxes, but not dialing.

A power line- sometimes bucks will not stop while crossing to give time to dial but then sometimes they piddle around). The reason I wanted no more than ten power is because if I have to use the plex it is only good for you max power ( yes,
I know it will work at other powers but if I have to many numbers in my head I’ll blow it for sure).

My Firedot has spoiled me so I’d really like an illuminated reticle. I thought Tracy might fit the bill but I don’t see see a BDC reticle on their one inch tubes and I don’t believe it’s illuminated.
I am thinking an Accupoint might fit the bill

Look at the Trijicons. Most are 30mm, however. The 3-9s are pretty light and should let you dial, but nor conveniently since they’re capped. They do come in battery and tritium FO forms.
Personally, I’d drop the 1” requirement and look at the Trijicon Credo 1-6x24, available capped SFP and open FFP. I put one on my Grendel, where it seems just perfect. The FFP is a bit more.
