Can anyone recommend a 2-7X scope with an adjustable objective that focuses extremely close - such as 10 yards close, or thereabouts.

If you can use a 3.5-10, I have a Bushnell Prime on a Marlin Model 60 stainless and it's a tack driver. It will focus down to 10 yards. Hardly a day goes by that I'm not shooting it. I use it to knock off rats and starlings that come to my bird feeders on the other side of my property. Bushnell has discontinued it and it's on sale 1/2 price at some online retailers for under $80. It is not air-gun rated, though.

I have the fixed 4 power of this scope on a .22 and it works just fine.

I dont remember what the old Simmons silhouette 2-7X focused down to.
Had one way back, have only seen that scope twice (including online).
Mine was on a 1022 that shifted groups (gun not scope) and I let it go w the gun.
Back in the 90s. Not a current model scope.
