Depending on the model, they are currently estimating July – August. 3-9x40 and 4-12x40 likely delivering first. Of course, this is subject to change.

There are some specs in Sightron's 2022 catalog, which is downloadable on their website. Spec-wise they don't appear much different from the previous version. They look a bit different though.

I saw those last night. smile I like the power ring...it's similar to my STacs. The 12" length of the 4-12 A.O. is a plus and the MOA reticle looks good. I wish the occular were a bit smaller, though. I'll order one as soon they're available.

Woo.... dat’s fugly.
Shoulda called it the S1-GI(Jane)2...

Thought they were gonna offer a reasonably priced “classic” looking scope, not just a lower-end “clunker”. Back to searching the classifieds for used Leupolds/Redfields/Jap Weavers.....

I spoke to my guy at Sightron and he replied "Having compared the S1 G2 to the old SI series is easy to see the quality in the build, optics and light transmission. Regarding the SII Big Sky series, they certainly had a following, but the new PLR series is a step up in quality. The Zact-7 Plus Revcoat multi-coatings offer improved light transmission as well."

Also, if you check out Sightron Riflescopes on our site as many are either reduced on sale or have reduced prices with instant rebates

The 4-12 A.O. S1-G2 side view looks better than the angled frontal view Sightron shows in their catalog.

Form follows function for me and with a single exception, Sightron scopes have never let me down. The one exception was an early version 6X HBR scope and had been flawless for thousands of rounds in registered IBS and NBRSA competition. It was upgraded with the later version HBR internals and was even better than before.

On the Big Skys...I still have several and they're very good. Back when they were available, not that many buyers were willing to step up for the better glass of the Big Sky series, which is probably more of a testament to how good the 'standard' SII series optics were. I stumbled onto a virtually NIB 36X Big Sky a couple weeks ago. smile

I thought that the S1H series were comparable to the Leupold Rifleman and older Vari-X II series, quite useable in full daylight, but not the best choice for low light early mornings or late afternoons.

The only Sighton scope that I really disliked was the S1H 3-9x32RF, as I see the inside of the scope tube, just like the Weaver V10s.

I have a S2H 2.5-8x42 mounted on my primary elk hunting rifle, a CLR in 270, that has traveled thousands of rough roads and trails in SUV and ATV racks and has held its zero.

My experience with the previous S-II series - especially the 3-9 scope - was that it was virtually identical to Bushnell 3200 series in performance. While I have a 4-12x42 on a rifle now, I haven't really shot it/used it all that much so I can't speak to its performance or durability. As to my Big Sky, I bought two at the same time and let someone talk me out of one of them which I consider as one of the worst decisions I've made (I wish I had it back) - the Big Sky is one of the best optics products for the money that I can think of. Will have to see how this new line of scopes works out.

I have a S-II 1.5-6x40 on my favorite coyote calling rifle. I was thinking about one of the 1.75-5 that was supposed to be in the new S1-G2 line.

I've killed a lot of coyotes with the rig since 2006, Savage 10 in 22-204
