I’m thinking about a Tract Toric 3-9. I also saw Zeiss Conquest 4-16x44 V4’s on sale for $699. I despise AO’s for a pure hunting rifle although I’ve heard they are good scopes.
On our place shots anywhere from 10 yards to 75ish in the woods up to 300 max in an open field. There are places around you can shoot farther but that’s max on our place.
Opinions between those two would be appreciated or any others that you would recommend.
I've never been a big zeiss fan because I've often found their internals lacking. Clicks haven't been consistent, not great for dialing. However, I've heard these new V4s are made in Japan by LOW. Low makes many of my favorite all time scopes including the bushnell elite LRHS and DMRs.

I'm tempted to try one of these 4-16s on sale because that's about my favorite mag range and size of scope for most purposes. I can do most of what I need to do with a 4-16. The rifle I hunt with the most has a 3-12 and I love it but I'd trade the 3 for a 4 if it gave me 16 on the top. I have several DMRs that top at 21 but I rarely find myself going above about 15 or so.

If your not into dialing and are 300 or less the 3-9 might keep it simple. I'm out in the wide open west and like to dial.

I put a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x 44 on my 264 Encore setup, probably never use the top end mag on it but love the scope. Looking for a Z3 3-9x36 for my SML now just because was so impressed with the glass, even though not expect it to be as good as the Z5.

I have 4.5x14 Leupolds on my 264’s. I know they ain’t worth a cshit but I do the best I can
Torics come in 2-10 and 3-15 in their Toric line. I have both of those and a Zeiss V4 1-4x24. I like the glass on both and can't see the difference between the two with my eyes. Unless you really like to zoom in at the ranges you specify the Toric 2-10 is great. If you plan on heading to places where you will extend those ranges with the .264 the more powerful scopes would be nice, but not necessary.

I run a Burris FF 4.5-14 on mine at present. I was running a 3-9x Conquest.

There is no 3X9 Tract Toric. There is a 2X10 and a 3X15

Merely an opinion, but I bought a Tract Toric 2-10x42 for a basic no-frills point and shoot scope. I have not had a chance to use it yet. Optically no regrets after comparing it with several higher dollar scopes. I have the T-Plex reticle, which is well defined to my eye in lower light.

How do you like that scope?

To the op: What is the rifle you seek to scope?
I run an old Zeiss conquest 4-14 with a rapid z800 reticle. Very easy to learn hold over ranges and they were spot on for my 264 win at the 538 yards where I took a doe on the last day of season.

300 yards is a pretty close shot. A good 3-9x40 would suffice. Good enough low end and 9x covers you nicely, the further out you get, as well. Think about a Burris FFII 3-9x40 with a ballistic plex reticle. They are being discontinued and can be had for a very good deal at places like Natchez shooters supply.

You should have a got a turret kit with it plus you can get a custom turret for it.

You are correct, the turret kit was included.
I had forgotten about that.
I bought it for a set and forget scope. And I definitely forgot 😳.
The included turret kit and the custom turret ability are
nice options.
That 4-16 Zeiss is a good match for a 264 win mag but it sounds like you keep your Ferrari caliber driving in the neighborhood side streets so probably not all that magnification is necessary. I’m sure the Toric would work fine for what and where you are hunting.

I have 2 of the V4’s 4-16x50 & 6-24x50 and the have been great. The 6-24 loaned to SIL for a tough country elk hunt on a 300 Weatherby he shot a nice cow in thick brush tough lighting conditions. Then I put it on a Bergara chassis 6.5 Creedmoor & it dials successfully out to 1100 yards with decent factory loads.

My most accurate hunting rifle a 46 year old 7mmRM is now wearing the 4-16 it will get hunted this season.

In my case, she wouldn’t be rich, but she would have a heck of a shoe and handbag collection.
Mine would be quilting.
