Recommendations please for a simple angle compensating rangefinder. It will be used for archery as well as rifle so must be accurate +/_ a yard or two at closer ranges. I am satisfied with a max range of 600-800 yards.

I don't want blue tooth or other high tech solutions or trajectory info. ONLY the horizontal distance corrected for angle and ideally a reticle that only shows that corrected number- not a lot of extraneous info.

Does any manufacturer offer a small quality unit like this?

Maybe I need to get out more, but I would be awfully surprised if any rangefinder being marketed these days did NOT feature a angle compensation feature. The first rangefinder I bought, well over a decade ago, was a Leupold and it had this feature. I now just use the one built into my Leica binocular, and it not only compensates for angle, but also for temperature and pressure, and corrects the range/angle to a sea level value. So I can just use sea level dope/dials no matter the elevation I hunt. But it sounds like you don't want anything that fancy, but you ONLY want angle comp? I can't imagine it's a hard thing to find. I’m currently also in the market for a new RF and have looked through several of them,
opinions vary but the Leica line up did not impress me at all, features and display seemed old school to me and Leica is more costly than most.

To the OP, Many RF’s out there capable of doing what your looking for, Vortex seems to have a solid line up.
The Vortex 3000 is on my A list, 400 bucks.

Leica 2400R is the best I've used. Gives horizontal equivalent from 10-1200 yards. Lightning fast readings. 2 readings per cycle.....1st one is actual distance, 2nd one horizontal equivalent. No ballistic BS to wade through.
