Curious what would be a good scope to plunk on my 7.62x39 zastava?

Right now it's running irons, but I was thinking of maybe adding a compact scope to get a bit more magnifcation smile
I have a 2-7 bushnell elite 3200, but don't like that it's over 11" long. Probably would look nicer with a scope around 9 inches long.
And nothing big and clunky, I like how it handles, shoulders really nice.

Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20 should do the trick. If priced to high look at the Freedom 1.5-4x20mm I use both for coyote hunting out west.

The SWFA 1-4 is 10.2”, and a pretty good utility optic. At 1x, it’s fast to get on target, and the center of the reticle is illuminated. It’s not especially light, and ER gets tight at 4x. They also make a 2-10 that’s tiny and light. Some like those a lot, but others find the ER too short on it too. Might work on a light kicker like your 7.62.

I understand the desire for a compact size, but don’t sacrifice the optical performance you want for that, lest you be looking again before you know it.
Leupold FX-II 2.5x20mm is light and compact.
