I am having the Arms Room convert my Winchester Model 71 to a convertible and install a Ruger quarter rib to attach a scout scope. I am leaning toward the Burris 2.75 Scout scope with their heavy duplex. Do any of you have any experience with this scope or have another choice? It will still be in .348 Winchester

It's one of burris's toughest scopes. I ran one on winter caribou hunt by dog team and a couple river trips.

I think they weigh 7 oz.

Had a bull moose come into the call at a very dim first light, the heavy croshairs showed up well, sealed the deal.

Scopw handled the recoil of 350 grain bullets from .410-9.3x62 wildcat.

First few shots, the entire scout base sheared the 6-48 screws, the whole base/ring/scope hit me in the forehead and continued 10 ft behind me. Once upgraded to 8-40 screws on the scout rail, the scope was fine.

Rifle fell over once, and caved in the elevation cap. Scope still fine.

Crashed a dog sled a couple times, scope held zero.

I mounted one on a 12 gauge Ithaca 37 slug gun. Worked great and held zero.

2.75x burris scout was so light, the rail, mountaintech rings and scope only weighed 14 oz.

That little bit of forward weight made for one heck of an offhand shot. Had to work on comb height though. Comb height has to be EXACT, if not, ur just fkn off ...........
