whats your opinons on the minox 50 spotting scope and other minox spotters?Is the glass in the spotters as good as the binos?

my friend bought a Minox spotter off of Doug at cameraland based on my recomendation and the spotter rocks! For the price its hard to beat. The optics are clear and bright and are as good or getter than the glass on the bins.
Like many have said and I will say it. If you get a Minox spotter and opt for a zoom eye piece, get the LER zoom instead of the standard. Not sure about the Minox 50, but that's how I feel with the bigger spotters.

I agree with Kique. I got one too, and really like it. One downside is that there is no locking feature on the ocular lens, so turning the power adjustment ring too far can loosen the lens. Don't know if this has been changed on the current models. The other is the cheesy lens cover for the ocular. I did some searching to try to find a better one, but was not successful. The objective has a screw in cover.

I agree on the LER eyepiece. Poor eye relief is a problem with many (most) variable power spotters. That was the main reason I bought the Minox.

I believe the eyepiece on the 50mm Minox is permanently attached. Does anyone know otherwise?..

I had the same problem until I made a couple wraps with some electrical tape. Problem solved.

+1 on the LER eyepiece, mucho better.
