As I'm sitting here looking through a Terra 10x42 and an Acadia of the same flavor, I'm struck but an apparently significant difference between the two optics.

As an admitted Zeiss aficionado, I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed by the Acadia. My expectations were low, but it's seems to be superior to the Zeiss glass in the same price bracket.
My expectations of Chinese made optics has always been low and never been impressed upon. Check these out from Doug

That is a great buy on Minox. Of course they are made in Japan because Made in Germany is an LLP and not where they are constructed.

Personally, I'm not that concerned where they are constructed, and if you are buying glass that is priced south of a grand, it's probably Pacific Rim.
