anyone compare these 2 ? is the glass in the meostar close to the zeiss victory glass? i looked thro both today at a local store and inside the store was hard to tell of course. maybe the zeiss has a touch better eye relief? both were the 3-12x56. if anyones compared both in a hunting situation what did u think? gonna buy a new scope in next week or two probably one of these
I've had both. I think the zeiss is a touch better, but I'm very satisfied with both. For value the Meopta can't be beat.
scouter - are you comparing it to the HT model? Are they both illuminated? If so, how do the reticles compare?
I have 3 Zeiss 1.5-6x42s, one Swarovski 1.5-6x42, one S&B 1.5-6x42 and one Meopta 1.5-6x42. While aspects of the Meopta are not equal to the others, I would not own at least some of the others and I'd own more of the Meoptas had I got my hands on it first. It is that good, and it costs a whole lot less.

The Meopta is not quite as bright in very low light, and the reticle is not quite as good in very low light. This particular Meopta is one of the best bargains in the best scope available for deer hunting.
Zeiss is a victory diavari with illuminated 4a. I prefer the zeiss reticle, but either will work. I've never been a reticle snob as long as its illuminated.

Though unsolicited the best scope I have is a Schmidt & bender klassick 3-12x50 illuminated.

I would. The difference is small. The price difference is not small. For the price of one Zeiss you can buy four Meoptas.
I can't tell the difference.
glasswise im sure its close enough but i guess my main concern is the eye relief
as I have asaid before compared side by side the Meopta 56 mm objective on their 3-12 is very good, but I don't like their illuminated #4 reticle. To my eyes the New Zeiss HT is better but really not that much. I may give the 3-12 another try but get something like their Z-plex
Never broke a zeiss have never had a meopta stay together, but to be fair I have only had 4 meoptas. I do still have one on a 243AI right now but it is not dialing correctly right now. takes it a couple shots to settle in.

really? ive always read meoptas were built pretty tough and rugged
Regards the Meopta's which ones failed on you? How did they fail?
