Anybody use scopecoat cover for their riflescopes? What are your likes, dislikes?

I use the Scopecoat 6mm XP-6 Flak Jacket on my two expensive scopes. I usually have to measure the scope and have mine custom made (more expensive). However, the product you receive truly protects your scope from all but the most violent impacts against the ground or other hard objects. I can't speak to the 2mm & 3mm models. I've only ordered and used the 6mm XP-6 Flak Jacket. If you use it like a bikini cover getting it off of the scope is easier than getting bikini covers off.

I used them on my good scopes. I prefer the standard version - it gives more stretch and is easier to get on and off.

I've used bikini covers and pop-ups (Aluminas and Butler Creeks). For me, the scopecoat and similar products provide more protection and are easier to deal with. I seem to catch open pop-ups on everything. Neither pop-ups or bikinis offer much protection from impacts.

i like the SnapShot covers.

They stay on the scope while the scope is in use.

Never used the scopecoat because I'd figure I lay them down and forget.


the butler creek flips have gone done in quality over the last few years. Too bad they were handy.

I use them and really like them - the neoprene is thick and really protects the lens AND the entire scope body. I leave them on in the field and can take them off in a second - my only issue is that I wish they cam in dayglow orange so that I can find them when the light is low or if I drop them somewhere.

+1 Scopecoats work very well and with a little practice, can be removed in an instant. Yes, I have lost a couple but I would rather replace a lost Scopecoat than a banged up scope.

One came with a Minox scope that I just purchased and I was psyched to see that the Scopecoat was Made in the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like scopecoats!

Am a big fan - great for my dusty jeep rides to the hunting area.

For those of you that like the Neoprene scope covers but worry about laying them down and losing them,...I'd suggest a look at "Scope Shield" products.

I've been using Butler Creek covers for 20 years, but I'm tired of replacing every other month (breakage at weak hinges) and am quickly becoming a convert to the Scope Shield as a better mousetrap.

I'm a fan of Scopecoats and probably have 100+/- of them currently in use. I've never lost one, but I think of them as a dust guard when at home in the rack or which traveling to wherever I'm planning to hunt. When I fill the magazine, I remove the Scopecoat and either leave it in the vehicle or carry it with me in my vest or pack.

I also like the Alaska Scope Shield.

Scope Coat are the only thing I've used since they came out, so 10-15 years at least. I lose them once in awhile, but only when a big hunk of meat has hit the deck and they get lost in the process. I got tired of having to scrape snow out from under my Butler Creeks and dealing with broken plastic.

I thought I was the only one not in love with the flip ups. Heresy loves company.

I have never had to rush any scope cover but removing a scopecoat seems about as fast as flipping up two butler creeks.
