everyone on the forums are educated and want a discount and a deal. which in some cases is the way to go because you don't get hit with the 10% from ebay in fees. you have to weigh whats best and often it depends on the item. leupold in particular sells for TOP money on ebay.

I picked up an Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 for $400 and a VX-6 2-12x42 for $600, both net to my door. Those deals don't happen every day, but do occur.

You gotta be careful on Ebay, watching the postage and not paying too much.

10% is STEEP! I've used Gun Broker for ammo/guns, but never optics. Is there not enough demand for optics on GB??

Gunbroker is not my 1st choice but I usually see good optics when I look there.

I agree with ebay if you already have some amount of positive feedback you will get the most eyes looking and competing. Some of the really esoteric shooting stuff might sell better on a forum like this but Swaros are popular with the birders too. A completed items search will give you realistic expectations of sale price.

You have to watch and be patient so far this year I scored an un-opened box Leupold VX-6 and a Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 BRH for $200-250 less on ebay than demos from my favorite optic site's (clny demos & swfa samples)
