Looking to get a nice 10x42 bino and have these 2 on my short list. Anyone compare these or another that I should include? Thanks.
I have used the 8x32 Monarch 7 Binoculars for a year now and am very impressed with them. I have compared side by side in the field with some high end glass and they really hold their own despite their small size. Have not used the Viper's but pleased with the Monarch 7 model I have.
Thanks, keep the reviews coming.
I used the PROSTAFF 7's for a season and found them to be very clear and built tough. My son managed to drop them and his rifle 20 feet out of a tower blind with no issues to scope or bino's. They are under a nikon PROMO right now, $40 off when you buy form an Authorized Dealer. Check out some of the Campfire's Sponsors and I'm sure you will find someone to help you out.

Not a great pic of the PROSTAFF 7 8x42. Love the wide field of view on the 8X.

My daughter has the monarch 7 in 8x and they are sweet. nice and light. I like my 10 power monarchs as I find its good compromise on weight and magnification. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Nikons warranty just takes 3-4 weeks, while vortex is 1 maybe 2 weeks tops.
I have the Monarch 7 10x42s and I love them. My FIL has some 12 year old Swarovski's and the Nikon blows them away.

That's interesting. In what ways is the Nikon superior?
I have Monarch 7's in 8x30 and 10x42 and I love them. I find my Swarafski 8x30 SLC's sitting in the save more and more now and I reach for the Nikons.

Just remember that the ProStaff and Monarch's are much different optics. PS are for price and Monarchs are for quality.
+1 for the Monarch 7. I have had a pair of 10x42's for two + years now. Clear, great in low light.

I also have the Monarch 7 10X42's and like them a lot. Nice and clear and pretty light.
Are the Monarch 7 10X42's tripod adaptable?

No offense, but this is falderal.

centershot, the Vipers are a pretty good glass - as are the Nikon. I've owned the Viper for a short time and played with M7 (a friends). If pressed I'd call it a toss-up. Should either need customer service/repair, Vortex would get the nod.

And odds are much better that you will need to use the warranty on the Vortex. Just about all the companies have the same no fault warranty. Ask an honest dealer and they will tell you the defective rate on Vortex is more than any but the cheapest optics.
Yep. I agree.
